8th December 2019, was a milestone in the history of Sunshine Society, an NGO working for children & senior citizens when it saw a gush of social coterie at Meghdootam Park in sector 50, Noida singing and dancing to the tune of it’s 7th Annual Event. The event which was organised on the theme “Celebrating Togetherness” reverberated throughout the venue. The MC for the afternoon was Ramita Taneja, Vice President Sunshine Society.The event one of it’s kind saw a mix gathering of children, parents, teachers, elders, sponsors, guests, corporates and team of sunshine intermingling with each other. Member, Shalini Chauhan made all the necessary arrangements and coordinated bringing Sunshine’s Indirapuram children under her personal supervision. Games like tug-o-war were organized for children by B Military Fit (BMF), a noida based fitness organization. Member, Parvinder Singh played fun games with the children. All the children were served home made food packed in reusable tiffin boxes by Vrushali of Mumbai Munchies, Madhu Mittal and their team. The annual event started with sponsor-child meet where the sponsors and children came together and spent time understanding and bonding with each other. The cultural evening commenced with saraswati vandana. Ashish Srivastava, Head-CSR & Corporate Communication, Marelli India shared his experience with Sunshine Society and motivated the children. Mrs. Hemlata, Principal, Rajkiya Balika Inter College, Noida talked about the role of education in one’s life and how Sunshine Society has been able to bring about a considerable change in the society. Vinod Prakash Gupta, Member, Sunshine Society inspired the children with his life’s experiences and motivated them to work hard. Madhu Mittal from Jan Jagran spoke to the audience on the importance of keeping our environment clean. Pankaj Sir from New Golden Public School, Sector 51, Noida spoke to the children on the importance of education. Vaishali Joshi Mehta, Secretary General addressed the gathering and summarized the 6 years journey of Sunshine Society. Few students shared their learning throughout their journey with Sunshine Society. The teachers of Sunshine Society were felicitated for their hard work and untiring efforts. SBI Life distributed 500 bags to all our children. The bags contained a tiffin box, a pencil box with pencils and erasers and registers and note books for the children to use. The cultural programs were an eye-opener with kid’s dances on themes like banning plastic, yog for health, himmat aur disha, love you zindagi, dance for fun and a play on “Road accident victim”. The grand finale was an energetic and captivating performance by our senior citizens “Tribute to Sridevi”. Our senior citizen participants Mrs Amrit, Mrs. Asha, Mrs Madhu, Mrs Vijaya Ms Promilla, Ms Somlata, Ms Shakuntala, Mr. Mahender, Mr SK Singh, Mr Gupta, Ms Nandita, Ms Laxmi, Ms Amanpreet and Sunshine children set the stage on fire. Sunshine Society is thankful to all the volunteer teachers who came forward to prepare the children and senior citizens for the cultural program: Amanpreet Kaur, Nisha Acharya, Supriya. Sunshine Society is also thankful to all the sponsors who came forward and supported the event and made it successful.
