Celebrating Togetherness - 2015
The pleasant afternoon of Saturday, 15h August was just a perfect day to mark the celebrations for all those who are associated with Sunshine.
The event was held at Community Centre, Sector-50, Noida from 4pm to 8pm. The theme of the event was ‘Celebrating Togetherness‘ and like past year, Sunshine wanted to mark it as a day of bringing generations together revel in each other’s company and take a moment to cherish the journey accomplished so far. The 125 kids, whose formal school education is supported by Sunshine was the biggest star among many other initiatives undertaken in the past year. Besides children, the senior citizens turn up showed their engagement with Sunshine. A lot of hard work and tireless efforts put in by one and all including children, members, volunteers and the extended family of young and old shone through when the evening began with fervor. The various activities which marked the event were: Sponsor Connect- the Sponsors were welcomed and given clue cards to spot the Child they support and interact with her/him. This was an interesting way to bring them together and break the ice as well let them meet and know each other. Ek Sapna Dekha hai Humne- A Unique Puppet Show- brain child of Amanpreet struck a chord with one and all there with the musical and fun way to narrate the story of a dream where there is no child deprived of the basic right to education. Games – Kids enjoyed games like balloon race, glass pyramid, other games like air power, tip tap go while the grown ups enjoyed other games stalls like gol mol ke dhol, bhooli dastan. It was fun to watch Senior citizens crack the puzzles specially set for them around old Bollywood movies. An Antakshari pegging kids against the grown ups was enthralling as they enjoyed challenging each other while also joining them in the singing along. The medley put together by Sunshiners was an apt way to conclude the cultural event as it echoed the spirit of coming together and joining hands for sharing happiness and making the world a better place. What better way to celebrate togetherness on the Independence Day of our Nation. |
