Educate a Child (EACH)

Objective

To sponsor higher education for children of the economically weaker section of society by bringing specific donors and children together. 

Create a pool of donors and children and provide a one on one connection to ensure a four year minimum financial support commitment.

Fund Generation

Funds are generated by soliciting specific donors. The donors will commit to a regular monthly amount of donation payable in quarterly, half- yearly or annual amounts.

The donors will in turn receive the following via email
  • introduction of the sponsored child to the donor.
  • quarterly report of the sponsored child’s progress.

Child Selection

List of deserving children will be collated via
  • Recommendation of volunteers.
  • Selection of children from the Sunshine After School Support program.

Selection of the number of children being sponsored will be based on the following criteria
  • Current academic performance of the child.
  • Earning capacity of parents.
  • Potential of the child to clear entrance test of selected school.
  • Children will be selected after case by case discussion in the regular meetings of the society.
  • Once selected the child / children will be groomed by Sunshine Society to equip them for any entrance test.
  • The child / children will join the selected school for a minimum period of two to three years – middle or high school.
  • A child already studying in an approved school can also be sponsored using this fund based on group approval.

School Selection

  • Sunshine Society will visit public schools and identify ones that provide quality of education at the middle / high school. 
  • The number of children being sponsored will be determined based on the number of donors / amount of collection that has been pledged for the program.
  • Sunshine Society will also attempt to get fee discounts / concessions for its sponsored children in the approved schools

On-going Tracking & Reporting

Every Month 
  • Check on donor payments payable next month and send out reminders as required.
  • Share the accounts status with SS team and volunteers.
  • Send out emails for soliciting new donors.
  • Collate and discuss, referred children during the month and take appropriate action.
Every Quarter
  • Follow-up on student progress with schools.
  • Prepare a progress report for each child and email to attached donor(s).
