Hello Sunshine… MC Rimaa’s words that reverberated through Meghdootam park in the afternoon of November 13, 2016 welcoming the sponsors, senior citizens, children and guests who gathered to participate in the success that Sunshine Society has achieved in the last three years.
Sunshine’s Celebrating Togetherness – an annual event to thank all our sponsors – EACH and SEP and to showcase the beautiful link that Sunshine is trying to generate between the Children and the Senior citizens.
The amphitheater in the Meghdootam park bore a festive look as the place spoke of the children that are attached with Sunshine, projects that Sunshine Society has been involved with, Sponsors – individual and corporate that support Sunshine and the members and volunteers of Sunshine who have been working day in and day out to bring Sunshine Society to a level that it is at.
Any organization’s spirit is formed by the members who are associated with it. Apart from the founding members, the members include Sh. V.P.Gupta, Dr. Bhawnani, Archana, Meena, Rimaa, Kumud, Shalini, Ritika, Shaloo, Keka, Parvinder, Sunil, Rakhi, Param, Dr. Beena, Vasanthi, Archana, Dr.Mittal, Dr. Suchitra, and the list goes on… these are the people who work relentlessly towards making a difference in our surroundings and spread Sunshine. Sunshine Society (An NGO for Children and Senior Citizens) is proud to state that today Sunshine has made a difference in the lives of over 300 children in and around Noida and Indirapuram. The children are either being sponsored for their school education or are being taught in the After School Study programs. This is the success story of our members and the unflinching support of our sponsors. Most of the children were present at the venue – smiling, enjoying and performing. Beautiful dances and songs were choreographed and prepared by Soni, Sugandh, Amanpreet and Meenu.
Senior Citizens, Sunshine Society’s focus group, has been progressing gradually. As is said, slow and steady wins the race and this was proved absolutely true on November 13. The senior citizen’s musical medley: Kal, Aaj aur Kal was a smashing hit and stole everyone’s heart. This was one theft that we were so happy about! The senior citizens who participated included - Mrs Vinod Singh, Dr. Murli Bhawnani, Mrs Savitri Bhawnani, Mr. Vinod Gupta, Mrs Promila Puri, Dr. S.K. Puri, Mr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Mrs. Rekha Sharma, Mr. Vimal Bhardwaj, Mrs. Mohini Joshi, Mrs Amrit Kapoor, Dr. Alka Mittal, Mrs. Suman Gupta, Mr. R.T.Gupta and Mrs. Premlata totally energized the audience with their foot tapping encore of the famous Bollywood songs choreographed by Amanpreet of Mahagun Maestro. The standing ovation and cheers made us realize that there is so much to learn from our senior citizens.
The feeling of togetherness amidst Parvinder’s halli gulli halli gulli exercise sequence, lots of games, kal aaj aur kal, ek-anek, hum honge kamyaab and so many children’s smile and laughter stays with us and keeps us energized to continue…
Thank you for your support.
