On Saturday, September 23 something positive started brewing at Gulshan Vivante, Sector 137, Noida. When children of the society get involved in working towards a better tomorrow, it is bound to get great, and this is what happened when children were called in for a formal orientation.
Around 40 children in mixed age groups filled in the room and the next couple hours were full of excitement. Sunshine Members, Nupur and Vidya along with full-fledged and voluntary support from Mrs Harjeet, Vini, Shuchita and Pooja conducted the orientation with the objective of engaging them in various activities in the society towards various social causes.

Highlights of the session are as below:
1.The participants were briefly oriented regarding the purpose of the event and were rounded up with warm-up activities and drumroll.
2.The issues of child labour, lack of access to education, littering and improper waste management were brought forth via a brief skit, performed by some kids under the guidance of Harjeet Naani.
3.This was followed by an interactive probing session to elicit the participants' views regarding the issues presented. Children across age groups actively participated in the discussion.
4.Vaishali, Secretary Sunshine Society engaged the kids with a song to step up their tempo.
5.Milestone-dependent rewards and benefits to children who consent to volunteer with Sunshine Society were discussed via a presentation.
6.The participants were divided into two teams and allotted their first task as Vivante Sunshine Juniors. The task has been described below.
7.The group moved out to the open area and enthusiastically participated in a Band-Walk covering the entire Vivante complex. It was encouraging to see Vivantiians cheering the Juniors.
8.The group returned to Club Vitare and amid cheers promised to re-gather on Wednesday, 27 September. Refreshments were organized  for all participants.

The first task given to children is to collect signatures of pledges form all residents for participating in recycling plastic bags which can be re-used as sapling bags by GiveMeTrees foundation. The children would also be engaged in various social activities take up for education of underprivileged children as well adults. The teams of charged up children have been doing a wonderful job so far and 300 families have already pledged for plastic re-cycling.
This seems to be the beginning of many great things to happen in this society.
