On January 4, 2019, massive fire engulfed a slum cluster in Sector 73, Sarfabad, Noida. The cause of the fire not known. More than 200 shanties were burnt to ashes and 1000 people including kids & elders have been left homeless in this biting cold.
Sunshine Society distributed sets containing a bucket and mug (plastic) 2 glasses, 2 plates, 2 katoris, 1 karchi, one water bottle(plastic) & 1 knife to 121 families in sector 73, Sarfabad, Noida (list prepared earlier on the basis of ground survey conducted by Sunshine team) whose jhuggies were burnt down in an accidental fire recently.
The sets distributed today could easily be procured from the generous donations that were received from many citizens who came out to help in this need of hour.
Numerous clothes and utensils were also donated by many residents, which were distributed to the families in Sarfabad during the first visit by Sunshine Team.
Our prayers to all the affected families and our faith in humanity remains strong.
