The above lines sum up the importance of teachers in our lives.

Sunshine Society, on 5th September, organized a small event to acknowledge the contribution of the teachers in the lives of the children. The children presented a dance performance choreographed by an enthusiastic teenager, Megha.

Sunshine’s After School Study program that is run by our senior citizen Vinod Prakash Gupta from Overseas apartments and supported by Pradeep Kulshreshth from Alok Vihar 1 has seen many teachers who have supported this initiative from time to time. The initiative was started seven years back by Sh. V.P. Gupta with the sole aim to provide education to the economically weaker section of the society living in the nearby villages.

The children who mostly come from the village Barola are very enthusiastic and eager to study. Sunshine’s effort is to reduce the gap between their education and the mainstream education and to help them prepare for various government educational/vocational options.

There are a lot of Sunshiners who actively teach children from time to time sometimes at the centre and sometimes from their homes. This article about teacher’s day will be incomplete without acknowledging the selfless work that they are doing. The residents are from sector 50 and also Indirapuram, and each one is making a difference in the lives of the children.

We salute their efforts to spread Sunshine.
