Sunshine Society, a NGO for children and senior citizens has been collecting Raddi door to door since October 2013. The funds generated by selling “Raddi” are utilized to sponsor children living in the nearby villages Barola and Hoshiyarpur. The children are also sponsored in the far off villages of Makanpur in Indirapuram and Tigri in Gautam Budh Nagar district.
There are six societies involved in Raddi/Cash Collection: Alok Vihar -2, Antriksha Greens, Overseas apartments, Alok Vihar 1, Mahagun Maestro in sector 50 and ATS in Indirapuram.
Mahagun Maple also in sector 50 joins us in this initiative from the month of October and this takes the total to seven societies involved in educating children from the economically backward societies. The RWA of Mahagun Maple has been instrumental in starting the raddi collection in their society. Ms. Ritika Kakar along with the society’s president Mr. Piyush Dwivedi and members Mr. G.K. Jain, Mr. Dinesh Goel, Mr. Anand Singh, Mr. Sanjeev Badam and Mr. Manish Kuchal have started this drive. Sunshine Society hopes that there will be many more people and societies joining in this initiative and making a difference in the place where we live.
Many thanks to all the residents who actively support us in this initiative and we look forward to many more joining in.
